Multi-billionaire Bruce Wayne is the last surviving member of the influential Wayne dynasty of businessmen and industrialists who have made Gotham City what it is today. His parents, philanthropists Thomas and Martha Wayne, were murdered when he was just eight. After their killer was assassinated by the mob, Bruce dropped out of Princeton University and vanished for seven years. The world thought him dead, until he reappeared and made a name for himself as a man with a taste for fast cars, beautiful women, and the best party spots. He's known as a man with more money than sense; impulsive, roguish, and extravagant, he was alleged to have burned down his mansion in drunken revelry during his 30th birthday party. He's the CEO and majority shareholder of Wayne Enterprises, but his antics have led some to suggest the company would be better off if he left it well enough alone. His critics suggest that Bruce lacks his parents' drive to make the world a better place.


Batman

Batman is the anonymous defender of Gotham City. He was first sighted the night he disrupted a drug shipment for Gotham's biggest crime family, captured its head, and gave the District Attorney's office the leverage they needed to launch a prosecution. He quickly became known throughout Gotham, to some as a dangerous vigilante, to others as the man who could give the city hope that someone would stand up to crime and corruption. He's intimidating to criminals and corrupt officials alike, fast, stealthy, and strong. And obsessively determined to combat crime in Gotham, with no small amount of success. He's sometimes frightening, violent and bestial in his rage, but he has rules: he doesn't use guns, and he doesn't kill.He wears body armour and keeps his face and identity hidden behind a mask. His car could best be described as a tank. He often seems to disappear into the sky, and has been caught on film flying off buildings.


This is your mask. Your real face is the one that criminals now fear. The man I loved, the man who vanished, he never came back at all. But maybe he's still out there somewhere. Maybe some day, when Gotham no longer needs Batman, I'll see him again.


Somewhere between the two, there exists a man who is determined to see justice return to Gotham and complete his parents' work to make the city a better place. He's devoted his time, his money, and his company to just that. Intelligent, insightful, and a skilled investigator, he's thoughtful and logical in a crisis. Loyal and generous to his friends, he's also not afraid to turn to them for help when he needs it. He's sarcastic and witty in conversation, with a dry sense of humour that's as often directed at himself as anyone else.

Bruce Wayne stands 6' tall, built muscular without being stocky. His dark hair is usually brushed back from his forehead and his eyes are hazel. In public, he tends to dress in expensive suits, though he's sometimes a little dishevelled with jacket and top shirt buttons undone and no tie. In private, he goes for a more casual look: shirt, trousers, and a sweater or jacket when required. He's physically extremely fit and highly skilled in armed and unarmed combat. He fights using the keysi fighting method, and has an extensive knowledge of ninjutsu, making him excellent at stealth and camouflage.

Bruce would tell his friends that neither the notorious playboy nor the masked crusader is his true self.

They wouldn't believe him.

This version of Bruce Wayne is based on that portrayed by Christian Bale in the Christopher Nolan films. It takes the films and the Nolanverse continuity, not the comics and the main DC universe continuity, as its canon.
